My journey in Jiu Jitsu and Muay Thai began in late 2000, inspired by watching the early days of the UFC. Fascinated by the effectiveness of Jiu Jitsu and Muay Thai, I took my first steps into the world of grappling at the Beverly Hills Jiu Jitsu Club under Marcus Vinicius and earned my blue belt, which fueled my passion even further.
As mixed martial arts exploded in popularity, I shifted my focus to the no gi style and began training under Eddie Bravo at the original 10th Planet location. I had the honor of receiving my purple belt in 2003 during the very first promotion a milestone that remains a special memory.
However, unexpected life circumstances led me to step away from martial arts entirely. Years later, in 2008, a new chapter opened when I moved to Thailand. Immersing myself in the birthplace of Muay Thai reignited my love for combat sports. Training in Thailand was one of the most transformative and unforgettable experiences of my life.
Upon returning to the United States, I briefly resumed my Jiu Jitsu journey in 2010 and earned my brown belt. But as the sport evolved rapidly, I found myself making excuses and walking away once again.
By 2017, I was overweight, unhealthy, and searching for a way to reclaim both my health and my passion. I made the decision to give Jiu Jitsu one more chance. Step by step, I rebuilt my discipline and love for the art. In 2022, the journey came full circle when I was awarded my black belt by my first instructor, Marcus Vinicius.
My path has been anything but linear marked by beginnings, setbacks, and comebacks. But through it all, Jiu Jitsu and Muay Thai have remained powerful forces of growth, resilience, and self discovery in my life.
